During liposuction, the surgeon first infiltrates a tumescent solution (saline, local anaesthetic and adrenaline) into the target area. This infiltration reduces bleeding, facilitates aspiration and minimises post-operative discomfort. Fat cells are then suctioned through fine cannulas introduced via micro-incisions of 2–3 mm.
At EstheticaPlus Tangier, several complementary technologies are available depending on the indication: classic tumescent liposuction, VASER (ultrasound-assisted), HD lipo (high definition) to sculpt muscle definition, and lipofilling (reinjection of autologous fat into other areas).
Liposuction can be performed alone or combined with an abdominoplasty, a rhinoplasty or other procedures during the same operating session. Our surgeon assesses feasibility during the pre-operative assessment.
According to data from the ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), liposuction has been the most performed aesthetic surgical procedure in the world for several years, with more than 2 million procedures annually.
