Nose surgery in Tangier

Rhinoplasty:
facial harmony & proportion

Rhinoplasty is the most requested facial surgery procedure in the world. It reshapes the nose by correcting the dorsal hump, tip, nostrils or septum — always preserving a natural look and harmony with the rest of the face.

"A successful rhinoplasty is noticed through the overall result — not the surgery itself. The goal is a nose that looks like it was always there."
Send my photos →

Rhinoplasty works on the bony, cartilaginous and skin structures of the nose. Each plane is analysed separately: the nasal dorsum (hump or saddle), the tip (width, projection, rotation), the nostrils (width, asymmetry) and the columella (nasolabial angle).

At EstheticaPlus Tangier, the consultation includes a standardised morphological analysis using front, strict side-profile and three-quarter photos. A digital simulation is offered to visualise the planned modifications and align the patient's expectations with the surgeon's assessment before any surgical decision is made.

According to data from the ISAPS, rhinoplasty is the most performed aesthetic facial surgery procedure in the world — and one with the highest satisfaction rates when the technique is mastered and expectations are properly defined.

Tangier is less than 2 hours from major French, Belgian and Swiss cities. The cost of a rhinoplasty in Tangier represents 30 to 50% of the price charged in France, with equivalent equipment and surgical training. Our team handles the complete organisation of your surgical stay in Tangier.

Indications & types of rhinoplasty

Which rhinoplasty
is right for your case?

Rhinoplasty covers several distinct indications — aesthetic, functional or revision. Our surgeon in Tangier assesses your candidate profile during the consultation and defines the appropriate surgical plan.

01

Aesthetic rhinoplasty

Most common · Facial harmony

The most requested procedure, aimed at improving the proportions of the nose and its harmony with the rest of the face. The plan is defined based on standardised photos and a complete morphological analysis.

  • Reduction or smoothing of the dorsal hump
  • Tip correction and refinement
  • Reduction of nostril width
  • Nasolabial angle correction
  • Rebalancing of asymmetries
03
🔄

Revision rhinoplasty

Refinement · Correcting a previous result

Revision procedure following a first rhinoplasty whose result is unsatisfactory. Technically more complex due to scar tissue changes. Requires a minimum delay of 12 months after the first procedure and a thorough assessment in Tangier.

  • Correction of residual hump
  • Insufficient tip refinement
  • Post-operative asymmetry correction
  • Treatment of depression or irregularity
  • Minimum 12 months after primary op
04
💉

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

No surgery · Injections · Day procedure

Non-surgical correction using hyaluronic acid injections. Can camouflage a mild hump, lift the tip or smooth an irregular contour. Immediate result with no downtime. Available at our Tangier aesthetic dermatology clinic.

  • No general anaesthesia required
  • Immediate result, no social downtime
  • Lasts 12–18 months (top-up required)
  • Partial correction only
  • Not suitable for significant corrections
Nasal anatomy & correction areas

What rhinoplasty
can correct on your nose

Each nasal area requires a specific surgical technique. The pre-operative morphological analysis precisely defines the steps needed to achieve a harmonious, natural result.

DORSUM TIP NOSTRILS COL. HUMP FRONTAL ANATOMY

Dorsal hump (gibbosity)

The dorsal hump is the most frequent request in rhinoplasty. It results from a bony and/or cartilaginous prominence on the profile. Correction involves precise osteotomy and rasping of the nasal dorsum, followed by lateral osteotomies to close the bony vault and prevent an "open roof" deformity.

Nasal tip

The tip can be too wide, overprojected, underprojected, drooping or asymmetric. Correction relies on remodelling the alar cartilages using sutures or cartilage grafts (open technique preferred). This is the most delicate area — an over-operated result is avoided through a conservative approach.

Nostrils (alar flaring)

Overly wide, prominent or asymmetric nostrils can be corrected by a skin excision at the alar base (Weir technique), leaving a scar hidden in the natural nostril fold. This technique can be combined with tip correction.

Septum (nasal partition)

Deviation of the nasal septum can cause breathing obstruction or a visible tip asymmetry. Septoplasty straightens the partition while preserving load-bearing zones. Combined with aesthetic rhinoplasty, it forms septorhinoplasty.

Nasolabial angle & columella

The ideal nasolabial angle (between the columella and upper lip) is 95–100° in women, 90–95° in men. A drooping tip closes this angle (too acute). Its correction improves tip rotation and the overall profile harmony.

Surgical techniques available in Tangier

Open, closed
or non-surgical rhinoplasty?

The choice of approach depends on the complexity of the case, the areas to be corrected and the patient's expectations. Our surgeon in Tangier explains the chosen technique in detail during the pre-operative assessment.

🔓
01

Open rhinoplasty

Maximum access · Complex cases

A columellar incision provides direct binocular access to the nasal structures. The gold-standard technique for major tip corrections, septorhinoplasties, revision rhinoplasties and cases requiring cartilage grafts.

  • Optimal surgical visibility
  • Maximum precision on the tip
  • Nearly invisible columellar scar (6–12 months)
  • Indicated: major corrections, revision, septum
  • Duration: 2 to 2 h 30
Complex cases · Gold standard

03

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

No surgery · Hyaluronic acid

Non-surgical correction by hyaluronic acid injection. Can camouflage a mild hump by raising the nasal dorsum or improve tip projection. Immediate result, no downtime, lasting 12–18 months.

  • Day procedure, no general anaesthesia
  • Immediate result, immediate social return
  • Not permanent: top-up every 12–18 months
  • Mild hump camouflage only
  • Available at EstheticaPlus Tangier

🚶
Day 14–Month 1

Social return

Return to work possible (except physical activity). Sunglasses permitted. Result at 60–70%. Avoid sport, swimming, sun exposure. Residual tip swelling still present — do not interpret as the final result.

Month 3–12

Final result

Sport permitted at 4–6 weeks. Result at 80% at Month 3. Final result at 6–12 months, especially for the tip which deflates slowly. Light glasses permitted from Month 6. Columellar scar (open technique) becomes invisible in 6–12 months.

⚠️

Contraindications & precautions

Rhinoplasty is contraindicated in patients under 16–17 years of age (nasal growth not yet complete), in cases of very thick, oily skin (rhinophyma type), clotting disorders, active smoking (cessation 4 weeks mandatory), or unrealistic expectations that have not been addressed during the consultation. A minimum delay of 12 months is required between a first rhinoplasty and a revision procedure. Every procedure is preceded by an anaesthetic consultation and a complete blood workup. The recommendations of the SOFCPRE are fully applied in Tangier.

Frequently asked questions · Rhinoplasty Tangier

Your questions
about rhinoplasty in Tangier

How much does rhinoplasty cost in Tangier?
+
Rhinoplasty in Tangier costs 2 to 3 times less than in France or Belgium. The price depends on the technique (open or closed), the complexity (primary rhinoplasty, septorhinoplasty or revision) and the areas to be treated. Check our price list or send your photos via WhatsApp for a free personalised quote within 24 to 48 hours.
How long do I need to stay in Tangier for rhinoplasty?
+
We recommend a minimum stay of 8 to 10 days: Day –1 (consultation), Day 0 (surgery), Day +1 (packing removal, hospitalisation), Day +2 to +7 (recovery in Tangier), Day +7 to +10 (splint removal + check-up). Return by air is permitted from Day +8 to +10. The first glimpse of the result is visible when the splint is removed.
What is the difference between open and closed rhinoplasty?
+
Closed rhinoplasty uses only internal incisions (inside the nostrils) — no external scar, slightly faster recovery. It is indicated for moderate corrections (hump, dorsum). Open rhinoplasty adds a small incision under the columella, providing direct binocular access to all nasal structures — it is recommended for major tip corrections, septorhinoplasties and revision rhinoplasties. The columellar scar becomes invisible in 6–12 months.
When can the final result of rhinoplasty be seen?
+
The result evolves progressively: approximately 60–70% at Month 1, 80% at Month 3, and final between 6 and 12 months. The nasal tip is the area that takes longest to deflate due to skin thickness and lymphatic concentration. It is therefore essential not to judge the final result before a minimum of Month 6. The columellar scar (open rhinoplasty) fades and becomes invisible in 6 to 12 months.
Can rhinoplasty correct both the shape of the nose and breathing?
+
Yes — this is precisely the purpose of septorhinoplasty, which combines aesthetic correction and treatment of septal deviation or turbinate hypertrophy in a single operating session in Tangier. It is a frequent, dual-benefit procedure and represents excellent value for patients who have both functional impairment and an aesthetic request.
From what age can rhinoplasty be performed?
+
Aesthetic rhinoplasty is generally performed after nasal growth is complete: 16–17 years in girls, 17–18 years in boys. Below these ages, functional rhinoplasty (breathing correction) may be considered if impairment is confirmed. A consultation with our surgeon in Tangier allows the skeletal maturity to be assessed and the most appropriate timing to be determined.
